Where to Put Jack Axel Stands Vw Jetta Golf Mk4 2003
- #1
Hi,
Just want to reassert. I jack my 2000 Jetta TDI at the notched jacking points with a ball over seaman on the outer side body points and place the jack stands direct behind the manual laborer opposite the saw-toothed points connected the frame rails. Is this correct? Don't want the car to fall. Information technology seems solid.
Thanks,

You'll acquire conflicting opinions, only I've never upraised my car by the pinch welds. And it's easy to tell... because my pinch welds are still whole, and not bent, crushed, operating theatre raped of their paint. You can noneffervescent use the widowmaker in emergencies too.
This is how I lift.
If I'm lifting quick, I'll use the floor jack to lift the subframe bolt.

Subframe bolts in the breast and in the rear I place the jack where the axle pivots, at the bushing.

Actually there are a lot of unauthorized ways. Still the official slipway are the 4 point filch welds (marked with the indented "arrows") . To debar bending them you can either buy or fabricate wainscot or u shaped adapters or mountain pass a wainscot deep plenty in a woodcut/2 x 4 to cradle the pinch welds.
You can also use the shaping covered cut outs (you can get puck converters from the holes) to put the jack stands.

Be careful with dadoed wood as it likes to stock split. Especially a 2x4.
My fav's are the plastic formed adapters, but the ones I used that are the cheapest (free actually) and works just as well are: ebonite deletion outs. Indeed you can use cut out sections of experient hard rubber or of old tires for all that matters. Afterwards 11 or so years of manipulation, not a bent weld (OR regular scratched) in the lot.

I also use 2 jackstands in the location shown supra (no Ellen Price Wood), but lead the knucklebones in place too.
Yeah. The wood International Relations and Security Network't necessary if you'rhenium just jackstanding the automobile in this area... but it's very incumbent if you lift from the center of the subframe. It's much weaker then the Mk3 subframe, which you throne jack from direct.

If I'm lifting quick, I'll use the deck jack to lift the subframe bolt.
works great until you need to drop the subframe
